Many manufacturers use their own terminology referring to VCI as VPI, VpCI, MPI, or other acronyms to describe their particular brand of VCI. Manufacturers will do this in an attempt to differentiate their product from competitors. Manufactures will often print their company logo(s), company name and possibly the VCI grade, type, or product code on the material and/or packaging.

Terms such as VCI, VPI, VpCI, and MPI are the same in that they are all acronyms for volatile and vapor phase corrosion inhibitors. The list below is a sample of a few of the labels you will find on corrosion control packaging that is currently offered in the marketplace:
