Armor Protective Packaging® produces tools to combat rust and all of its evil intentions.  When we first started out, our customers were solely industrial companies. But, as our onsite customer contacts began to discover how well ARMOR products worked, we started to receive requests for samples — samples that were for personal use in their homes, garages and workshops.

This high demand prompted ARMOR to repackage several of its rust prevention and rust removal products in smaller quantities for sale to consumers.  And in 2009, ARMOR established its consumer brand Workshop Hero™, a brand that allowed us to place Metal Rescue™ Rust Remover Bath and Dry Coat™ Rust Preventative Spray on the shelves of nearly 10,000 retails stores including Home Depot and AutoZone™.  But, over time, it became clear that Workshop Hero lacked the resources and retail clout needed to take the brand to the next level.

As a solution, ARMOR joined forces with the B’laster Corporation — the maker of lubricants, greases and the #1 selling penetrant PB B’laster — to transition the consumer sales of Metal Rescue and Dry Coat to the B’laster brand and its distribution channels.  The Metal Rescue ingredients are now a B’laster product and retail locations have expanded to include Menards™, NAPA, and more.

In addition, ARMOR teamed up with Plano®, an industry leader in fishing gear and tackle storage, to create its rust-preventing Rustrictor™ and Edge™ line of utility storage  boxes sold to consumers. Infused with ARMOR rust-preventing VCI Nanotechnology®, the Rustrictor StowAways are the first tackle storage boxes to provide 360 degrees of protection from rust for terminal tackle and hard-bait. The line expanded to include gun and ammunition storage boxes as well.  Rustrictor and Edge products are available for purchase nationwide at Bass Pro® Shops and Cabela’s®.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for ARMOR partnerships as we continue to expand our consumer-based,  rust-eradicating products and partnerships in the future!
