ARMOR Establishes its VALOR Program to Demonstrate that its Commitment to Service Extends Beyond Customers
At Armor Protective Packaging® our motto is to Serve and Preserve. We take this commitment to heart -- service in all aspects is as important as the products we offer and sell. At ARMOR we serve our customers, we serve our co–workers and in 2015 we extended our belief in the importance of service to supporting our community even more. ARMOR created a formal employee volunteer program named VALOR, a name that stands for Volunteers of ARMOR. As part of VALOR, all ARMOR employees are given 24 hours of paid time off to serve and volunteer.
At the inception of VALOR, a committee of employees representative of ARMOR’s different departments, joined together to establish the mission, the program’s guidelines and even the program’s name. Together this team chose three charitable organizations that matched our core values and vision. In addition, each selected organization has the ability to expand to ARMOR’s international partners as ARMOR has service on four continents and in more than 25 countries. The three VALOR partners are The Salvation Army, United Way and Recycle Livingston.
Each of the three partners provide ARMOR employees with the opportunity to use their VTO (Volunteer Time Off). Each ARMOR employee can donate up to 24 hours per calendar year toward a 501c3 charitable organization, in accordance with ARMOR’S volunteering guidelines. Sixteen hours of this time is contributed to ARMOR’S Organizational Partners -- Salvation Army, The United Way, and Recycle Livingston. The remaining 8 hours can be used with ARMOR’s organizational partners or a 501c3 charitable organization of the employee’s choice.
