ARMOR ESTABLISHES A CONSUMER DIVISION - WORKSHOP HERO™ AND THE BRAND EXPANDS AND GROWS

In 2009, ARMOR launched Workshop Hero™, a new consumer division. The Workshop Hero™ line is comprised of Metal Rescue™ Rust Remover Bath and Dry Coat™ Rust Preventative, two products designed to take the “work” out of workshop. Both Metal Rescue™ and Dry Coat™ started as a part of the ARMOR industrial line and they were very successful. Workshop Hero™ products, just like ARMOR products, are guaranteed to be clean, safe, and easy to allow Workshop Hero™ customers to work less and play more.

Since its creation, Workshop Hero™ has gained momentum winning awards and expanding its distribution each year. Provided below is an at-a-glance timeline of the new division’s milestones in its few short years of existence:

  • 2009 Workshop Hero™ brand is established.
  • 2010 Metal Rescue™ receives 3 Global Media Awards from the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) at its tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • 2011 Metal Rescue™ Rust Remover Bath and Dry Coat™ make their debut in the retail chain Menards home improvement stores.
  • 2011 Celebrity spokesman Bryan Fuller, previous co-host of “Two Guys Garage” and host of a new, soon-to-debut television show on the Velocity Channel titled “Naked Speed “joins the Workshop Hero™ team.
  • 2012 Metal Rescue™ is awarded the Product Showcase Award at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX).
  • 2012 Workshop Hero™ products are added to the shelves of retail giant Home Depot and the Home Depot website, increasing the product’s accessibility to consumers exponentially.
  • 2013 Large retail chain Canadian Tire adds Workshop Hero™ products to their shelves and website.
  • 2013 Celebrity Frank Fritz of HISTORY’s hit TV series “American Pickers” joins Workshop Hero™ to serve as a celebrity spokesman.

During the same time period the ARMOR industrial side continued to expand and grow as well. ARMOR experienced additional international growth as three new companies from three different countries joined the ranks – ARMOR welcomed partners in India, Thailand and Indonesia. The international reach and scope of ARMOR products continue today as ARMOR has representation in 17 different countries and distribution in many others.

As we near the end of 2014, it is natural to look back with appreciation for the many blessings of the past year AND in this special anniversary year we look back with appreciation for the past 35 years! In this final installment of our video retrospective we recap the final years of the ARMOR “chronicles.” The short video below catalogs these years and ARMOR’s journey from a small, two-man show to the global corrosion management solutions company that it is today.   • The U.S. Military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy that banned open homosexuality in the armed forces was officially repealed.
  • Prince William wed Kate Middleton in the United Kingdom Royal Wedding.
  • A gunman attacked Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut shooting and killing 26 most of whom were children.
  • Singer and actress Whitney Houston drowns in a hotel bathtub at the age of 48.
