ARMOR Tops the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch Award List
Armor Protective Packaging has been honored with the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award sponsored by Michigan Celebrates Small Business, which recognizes growth-oriented businesses based on market expansion, job creation, technological innovation and community impact.
ARMOR received the award whose 2015 theme for selection was “Unleashing Innovation and Growth.“ The growth component of the award is most clearly demonstrated by ARMOR’s industrial expansion and global reach which currently encompasses 25 countries in four continents. ARMOR provides over 90% of the Fortune 500 industrial companies with clean, safe and easy rust preventative packaging and liquids. Customers include the likes of GM, Ford, BMW, Federal Mogul, Cummins, Brembo, Nissan, Eaton and Siemens. Sales have grown 76% over three years with 2014 sales approaching $20 million.
Most notable in the category of innovation is ARMOR’s response to the 2008 recession that crippled the automotive industry. During this time, ARMOR strategically innovated a business-to-consumer product line and launched its consumer division known as Workshop Hero. Its award-winning product, Metal Rescue™ Rust Remover Bath, has made major in-roads into the retail sector with placement in all US Home Depot stores.
In further commitment to its people, its customers and its hometown of Howell, Michigan, ARMOR doubled its industrial space by purchasing and re-purposing a former production facility in Howell. Its International Headquarters is unique, inspiring, and able to accommodate the continued growth projected for years to come.
