QUESTION: Once opened, how long is ARMOR WRAP® paper effective?
The answer to this question is impacted by conditions such as temperature, humidity, air flow, size of the ARMOR WRAP paper and whether or it is a cut sheet or on a roll.
For best results, do not leave ARMOR WRAP in an open environment – either indoors or outdoors. ARMOR WRAP is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the environment) so proper storage is critical. Store ARMOR WRAP in original packaging or enclosed inside a container to ensure that the VCI vapors remain in the paper and are not volatized. As temperature and humidity levels increase, the rate of the volatilization of the chemicals contained in the packaging also increase, thus reducing the effectiveness and shelf life of the product.
After ARMOR WRAP paper has been exposed to the atmosphere for a period of 24 hours, remove the outside layer of paper from a roll, or the top four-to-five sheets from a stack of cut sheets, and dispose of prior to using the rest of the product. Product should be stored in an environment that prevents material from getting wet or damp and at temperatures of 40° – 110°F (5° – 43°C).
