SANTA AND HIS TEAM ESTABLISH THE TOY REPURPOSING PROJECT

Santa and his team of toymakers have always been known for their commitment to the practice of “green” production and manufacturing processes, long before the term “going green” was created. At the workshop, elves have made new toys for 100s of years using time-proven processes such as hammer and nails, hand carving, and sewing. The use of toxic paints and harsh chemicals is strictly prohibited.

“I have tried to create a culture within the entire workshop that ensures that the toys we produce are safe on the environment and safe for the children that receive them, it is as simple as that,” said Santa.

Recently, Santa and his workshop staff have taken on a new initiative – the Toy Repurposing Project. Included in this new project is a push to reduce materials while at the same time use renewable and recyclable products. “Essentially we are going to refurbish and repurpose old toys until they are as good as new and then redistribute them,” Santa explained. “We are trying to do our part to help the environment by reducing our ‘toy making’ carbon footprint”

One tool used by the elves in the workshop is Metal Rescue™ Rust Remover Bath. “It has been a lifesaver – it saves my staff hours in unnecessary work and effort when working to refurbish our metal toys.” As an example, click on the video below to see how quickly and effectively Metal Rescue™ removes rust from an old Tonka truck-without harming the paint, leaving the truck rust-free and ready for additional restoration.

Metal Rescue™, made by the Workshop Hero™ line of products, is truly living up to its name – it is a “hero” to the elves working under the new Toy Repurposing Project.
