WHERE IT ALL BEGAN – TAKE A LOOK AND LISTEN TO THE STORY OF ARMOR PROTECTIVE PACKAGING®’S HUMBLE BEGINNINGS 35 YEARS AGO

1979 marked the start of what now has become Armor Protective Packaging®. John Holden, the company’s CEO and majority owner, took lemons and made lemonade 35 years ago. Holden was out of work and embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and decided to purchase a little known brand name called Anox® and a formula for something called VCI paper from a Canadian company. He named the company SKS Industries (using the initials of his wife and two children) and built the company from humble beginnings to the international corrosion management system provider it is today.

With a focus on a VCI paper line, some successful tweaks to the chemistry of the formula, and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations at every level, Holden positioned his company for success. ARMOR’s celebration of this year’s 35th anniversary is a testament to the hard work, the quality products and the quality results that ARMOR has built its reputation on.

Take a look and a listen as John Holden tells of the company’s early days (including his first office housed in his bedroom) in the video below. This is one of several videos we will feature in the ARMOR SENTINEL as part of our video retrospective of ARMOR’s history.
