ARMOR CONTINUES TO GIVE BACK TO ITS HOMETOWN THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES

Armor Protective Packaging® employees participate in multiple community service activities as part of the company’s commitment to give back to its city and surrounding area. ARMOR provides time during work hours to allow employees the opportunity to volunteer for several one-time and several ongoing service opportunities throughout the year.

“Good corporate citizens give back to the communities they serve. Howell has been very good to us and we want to do what we can to make our community a better place,” said ARMOR President Robin McConnell.

ARMOR and its employees supported the following community service activities during 2014:

  • Meals on Wheels – ARMOR employees work in pairs and travel from home to home within the community to serve meals to the elderly. In addition, ARMOR employees and their children decorate brown lunch sacks for use by Meals on Wheels for lunch deliveries.
  • Salvation Army – ARMOR employees serve food at the Salvation Army Summer Lunch Bunch program, a program designed to provide a free served meal one day of the week during the summer months. At the same time, volunteers distribute pantry food for meals to be used the rest of the week.
  • United Way Day of Caring – for this annual event, ARMOR employees worked on landscaping and removal of debris and limbs in the yard of an elderly couple living in the area.

In addition to volunteer time, ARMOR donated items in support of the Salvation Army Christmas Angel gift program, baby care items for LACASA – a local domestic abuse shelter, and items for several food drives for local organizations.
