ARMOR CELEBRATES ITS OWN SUCCESS WITH THE MOVE TO NEW CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS
Historically, the Success Story column is devoted to success stories from our customers to tell of their experience in dealing with ARMOR products and customer service. But as a unique twist, ARMOR would like to use this issue’s column to tell of its own success – the relocation of its corporate headquarters. On September 5th, the ARMOR Corporate Headquarters made the formal move to a new address. While the company still remains in the same city of Howell, Michigan, it now resides in a new building with more than 45,000 square feet of office, production, inventory and distribution space. To accommodate the need for space, ARMOR renovated an existing building and constructed an additional 8,000 square feet of new office space. The new headquarters also offer expanded shipping and receiving facilities and access to adjacent land for future expansion. The new ARMOR headquarters boast a building design and décor that marry the past with the present. The interior structure of the building, with its open ceilings and exposed duct work, hosts a vintage look reminiscent of industrial office space from years gone by. Office furniture, wall hangings and storage cabinets are a mix of old and new. As an example, while several of the workspaces offer state of the art, hydraulic-based stand up computer desks and new workstations, there is also industrial equipment that has been “Metal Rescue’d” and turned from rusty equipment into vintage furniture.
The new building’s kitchen and meeting space – referred to as the “Armory” -- demonstrates the vintage design and feel of the building. "The new building reflects our two business units: the industrial division of Armor Protective Packaging® and the consumer division Workshop Hero™. The building’s interior and exterior are best described as vintage industrial meets restoration hardware meets Apple Computer!" said David Yancho, Vice President, ARMOR and Workshop Hero™.
