Name: Rob Schaftenaar
Job Title: Ingredient Branding & E-Commerce Account Manager
Where Do You Live: Holland, Michigan
Family Details: “I’ve been married to my wife, Christina, for 11 years. We have 3 sons: Karter (10), Cayden (8), and Jaxon (5).”
History with ARMOR: “I just started in February 2025.”
What aspect of your job do you enjoy the most?: “I love meeting new customers and determining what challenges they’re facing and how we can help them.”
Past work experience before coming to ARMOR: “Prior to ARMOR, I spent 10+ years as VP of Sales and Marketing for Diverse Global in Saugatuck, MI, which is a manufacturer of custom returnable packaging. They make custom steel racks, plastic totes/dividers, and their patented RZR & FLX Racks.”
If you could plan the “perfect day” for yourself, name three things that you would include: “Going to a Lions game with my friends and family, some cold beer, and a great steak dinner (with mashed potatoes, of course!).”
Hobbies: “My hobbies include watching football at all levels (youth, high school, Michigan, and the Lions!), coaching/watching my kids play youth sports, playing guitar and singing for our church, spending time by the pool with our friends and family, and summertime cooking on the grill, smoker, or pizza oven!”
Favorite Food: Mashed potatoes and ice cream (not together, though).
If you could trade places, who would you like to be for a day and why? “I would trade with someone who is tall/athletic enough to dunk a basketball. I’d love to know what that feels like…haha. Other than that, I don’t know that I’d want to trade places with anyone. I like my life, and I’m happy being me.”
What was the first concert you attended? “I think the first concert I ever went to was Hootie and the Blowfish with my family, but the first one I went to on my own was Fall Out Boy.”
What song is most likely to get you to dance? “I’m not so sure about dancing, but my favorite song of all time might be ‘I’d Hate to Be You When People Find Out What This Song Is About’ by Mayday Parade.”
Favorite Quote: “I don’t know that I have a favorite, but I tell my kids all the time, ‘It’s OK to do hard things.’”
