ARMOR SHIELD® Desiccants
Hang Rust and Corrosion Out-to-Dry with Moisture-Adsorbing Desiccants
With ARMOR SHIELD® Desiccants, the job of managing moisture and humidity in the packaging or storage of metal parts is Cut-and-Dried. Desiccant packs adsorb water and reduce the amount of moisture present in the air, and when used in combination with ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™ (our “secret formula” for vapor corrosion inhibitor), rust and corrosion doesn’t stand a chance.
ARMOR offers a variety of desiccants including clay Tyvek®, Silica Gel Tyvek® or Clay Sewn Cloth, ranging from .5 grams to 2,500 grams, and these powerful pouches of moisture control are ideal for use in long-term storage or export.
ARMOR products are in-stock and ready-to-ship with no order minimums through our ARMOR Stock & Ready® program.

Desiccant Types:
ARMOR Clay Tyvek® Desiccants
Used mostly in industrial applications due to its economics, clay can adsorb up to 30% of it’s weight in water vapor at 77°F (25°C) and 80% relative humidity. The dust free Tyvek® pouch is strong and durable and prevents against punctures and tears.
ARMOR Silica Gel Tyvek® Desiccants
Ideal for temperatures above 120°F (49°C) and will adsorb about 40% of its weight in water vapor at 100% humidity. Silica gel works faster than clay as it can adsorb 15% of its weight in water vapor in 2 hours. The dust free Tyvek® pouch is strong and durable and prevents against punctures and tears.
ARMOR Clay Sewn Cloth Desiccants
Formulated to desiccate inside shipping and storage containers. ARMOR’s Clay Sewn Cloth desiccants work to reduce the threat of container rain.
ARMOR Desiccants Help Prevent Rust on 30,000 Automotive Engines
Armor Protective Packaging successfully developed a clean, safe and easy long-term storage rust prevention solution for engines at a GM Saturn Plant where cost and timing were critical.
