After decades of dedicated leadership, Robin McConnell and Dave Yancho have decided to step back from the daily operations at Armor Protective Packaging®, marking the end of an incredible era for the company. While they will no longer oversee the day-to-day management, they will remain actively involved in shaping ARMOR’s future as co-owners and members of the ARMOR Board of Directors.
Together, Robin and Dave contributed nearly 50 years of service to ARMOR, achieving significant milestones such as developing strong distribution channels, creating new VCI formulations, rebranding the company to Armor Protective Packaging®, adopting the Entrepreneurial Operating System (internally referred to as the ARMOR Operating System), and establishing the ARMOR Stock & Ready® Program. These accomplishments reflect their shared vision and commitment to the company’s success.
Robin McConnell joined ARMOR in 2002 as Director of Operations and Product Development and became President in 2005. With a Chemical Engineering degree from Wayne State University and an MBA from Michigan State University, Robin brought over 20 years of experience in the automotive, chemical, and coatings industries to his role. Now stepping back from the business, Robin looks forward to spending more time with his wife and their growing family of grandchildren.
Dave Yancho began his career with ARMOR in 1999, serving in various roles including Sales Manager, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and ultimately President, CEO, and Managing Partner. A Michigan State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Dave’s expertise and leadership were instrumental in transforming ARMOR into the company it is today. He is now pursuing a new venture in consulting establishing Left & Right Consulting, helping organizations with business operating systems and develop marketing and branding strategies.
Ryan Gingery, who was named President of ARMOR in January 2023, will now lead the company alongside the ARMOR Leadership Team, continuing the strong foundation established by Robin and Dave. We celebrate their remarkable achievements and look forward to their continued input and guidance as board members, along with wishing them success and happiness in this next chapter of their lives.
