Ricky Torres

Name: Ricardo Ivan Quiroz-Torres

Job Title: Ricky works as both a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator and Machine Operator.

Where Do You Live: “Howell Michigan has been my home since I was brought here when I was 3 months old from Mexico!”

Family Details: “I come from a family of 4. My dad is a CNC operator and he is responsible for my love of soccer. He is my inspiration and role model when it comes to family dedication and hard work. My mom is my rock – she is calm cool and collected. She is a fantastic chef and makes killer deserts. My brother is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet and I, of course, have taken on a few of the same interests as him like my nerdiness for Harry Potter and Pokémon!”

History with ARMOR: Ricky has been with ARMOR since May of 2018.

What aspect of your job do you enjoy the most?: “I like that since I’ve started I have been cross-trained to work in a couple of different departments and on various machines.  It makes me feel like I have a better, more well-rounded understanding of the company and it has helped me to figure out what to do when I face a challenge.”

Experience before coming to ARMOR: “Before joining ARMOR I worked in landscaping and as a CNC operator and an assembly worker for several factories – none of them were as cool as ARMOR of course.”

Hobbies: “I am passionate about soccer  — if you have a few days, I can talk nonstop about the sport.”  Ricky also enjoys video games, although he says that he does not play as avidly as he did when he was younger but he does enjoy the occasional gaming session.  “I also enjoy binge watching tv shows on Netflix, so I am all ears for any suggestions.”

Favorite Food: “I love tacos and Chinese food, specifically dumplings!”

If you could trade places, who would you like to be for a day and why? “It would be cool to be Snoop Dogg for a day just to see what a day in the life of a celebrity is like.”

If you were given one year off WITH pay, what would you do?  “I would travel the world and learn from all the cultures to become a more knowledgeable and wiser person but also to have a ton of fun in the process.”  Ricky added that he would also volunteer and help the homeless with the additional free time he would have.

What is the first concert you attended?  “I went to see the Mexican band La Adictiva with my co-worker Osvaldo and we had a blast. We are currently planning our next concert right now!”

What song is most likely to get you to dance? “Cash Out” by Calvin Harris – “this song is too groovy to just stand around while it plays.”

Favorite Quote: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” — Henry Ford
