Highlights, Insights and Sound Bites from ARMOR

An update from ARMOR President, Dave Yancho in the debut of a new column:

The team at ARMOR kicked off this fall season in grand style!  In late August, ARMOR was recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as a Cool Place to Work in Michigan for the 5th time.  And, while it is against my nature to “toot our own horn,” in this instance I can justify it because the positive words about ARMOR are not my own, they are from our employees.

The Crain’s award recognizes employers who go the extra mile to provide outstanding company culture and to help employees feel appreciated as determined, in part, by the input of the employees themselves. Let me tell you, being named to the Cool Places to Work list for the fifth time is a testament to the talents, team and strong company culture that prevails at ARMOR.  In turn, we channel that positive (dare I say “award-winning”) energy into taking the work out of workday for our customers.

And speaking of energy, in September ARMOR returned to Chicago to attend the 6-day International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) after several years of hiatus due to COVID.  We pulled the ARMOR tradeshow booth out of storage to give it a fresh coat of paint and new display elements and then, let our sales team do what they do best – help customers eradicate rust.  If you’re not familiar with this tradeshow, it is best described in one word – huge.  IMTS reports that the 2022 show had 1,272 exhibitors whose displays covered 1.3 million square feet of show floor for more than 86,000 registrants.

I spent some time in the ARMOR booth and I must admit that I am always surprised to learn how many companies still use RP oil or grease.  The look on their face when I explain how ARMOR VCI offers a clean, safe and easy-to-use rust-prevention alternative never gets old.  I am proud to say that the ARMOR team gave it all they had during their time at Chicago’s McCormick Place – and while the Eradicators of Rust have “left the building” (for now), we shall return for IMTS 2024.

Finally, I shall conclude this recap of ARMOR (trade) Show-and-Tell by recognizing our partners from the ARMOR Thailand team who attended the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Expo 2022-Shaping the Future Industry for Stronger Thailand, held in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  The Expo was a collaboration between 45 industries in 76 provinces of Thailand and is currently the biggest expo for Thailand industry.  Of special note, ARMOR Thailand’s Sirisak Suradecha was also a speaker at the expo, where he presented on corrosion and rust prevention solutions.
