ARMOR and Primex Plastic Corporation joined forces to bring you Prime-Cor-X protected by ARMOR, a new rust-prevention product that is designed to protect metal parts from the damage of corrosion during production, storage or shipping. Prime-Cor-X protected by ARMOR is corrugated plastic infused with rust-preventing VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) and manufactured in a variety of packaging options including sheets, partitions, bin liners or fabricated into bins, boxes or totes.
For customers, it is the best of both worlds — ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™ for rust prevention and the Primex brand of corrugated plastic Prime-Cor-X. When this “dynamic duo” teams up, the result is rust-prevention packaging that is lightweight yet strong, durable and reusable.
Prime-Cor-X protected by ARMOR is made from polypropylene or polyethylene that is extruded into a three-layer structure. At the core is a ribbed or fluted center layer that is sandwiched between two outer layers; a design that enhances its stability, rigidity, and cushioning to absorb shock during impact.
ARMOR’s proprietary formula of vapor corrosion inhibitor — called ARMOR VCI Nanotechnology™ — is infused into the polypropylene or polyethylene during the manufacturing process to prevent rust. Once metal parts are enclosed in VCI Corrugated Plastic, the VCI’s rust-preventing vapors are released and form an undetectable shield of protection on the surface of metal to keep it corrosion free.
Prime-Cor-X protected by ARMOR isn’t just good for business, it’s good for the environment too. By preventing rust, it preserves natural resources and energy that would otherwise be required to produce new metals. Its strength, durability and reusability reduce the need for replacement packaging and thereby reduce waste. In many instances, this VCI Corrugated Plastic can do the job of multiple rust prevention products, which saves valuable materials, resources, and also significantly minimizes waste.
